The
Scout Troop caters for boys aged 10 to 14 and currently has almost fifty
members. We have seven patrols - Badgers, Eagles, Falcons, Kestrels, Stags,
Foxes and Wolves. Our current Term Programme
is attached for information and is kept up to date so that any changes to
times or meeting places can be noted. We meet on Wednesday evenings, although
we also have activities most weekends in the summer and regularly throughout
the rest of the year. |

We try to
camp out at least once a term throughout the year and to introduce all
our members to a variety of adventurous activities. We own our own equipment
for Abseiling, Archery, Caving, Crate-Climbing, Canoeing, Fishing, Rafting
and Rock-Climbing.

Currently
the Troop hold the District Swimming Trophy (won in November 2005); the
Gibb Bugle District Camping Competition (won in May 2005) and the William
Robertson Shield for Scouting Knowledge (2005). Chief Scout’s Awards are
made regularly to members of the Troop and the list since the founding of
the Group is shown in History of the 83rd. |

|
Over many
years the Scout Troop has travelled abroad regularly and have many Scouting
friends around the world. Under the new programme there will be opportunities
for all members of this section to travel in the future.
We have
visited and camped in the Netherlands in July 2003 and each year in February
there is an expedtion to Paris and Eurodisney.
